As a female-owned and operated business, one of our top causes is supporting initiatives that empower women. Dress for Success fights for a world where women don't live in poverty and supports female-identifying people in the workplace. Their annual EmpowHer Gala is the event of the year when it comes to celebrating and supporting women. In the wise words of Barbie, sometimes "it's literally impossible to be a woman." Dress for Success recognizes these barriers and helps women rise above them in style.

Garlands, florals, and fringe, oh my! We loved creating this installation for the 2023 EmpowerHER gala. Complete with a custom garland backdrop, fringe-wall photo op, and oh-so-pretty floating centre pieces, this event was just as beautiful as it was powerful.

Photo Ops - Not Optional
It's Instagram's world, we're just living in it. Having a designated set up for guests to take photos is an essential element to every event this day and age. Make sure it's accessible, fun, and BRANDED! These photos are likely what are going to be all over social media the next day, so make sure people know where your guests were. Free publicity anyone? A fringe wall in a custom colour palette is the perfect, low maintenance way to tick all of the boxes! Make sure to throw in a sign or a logo to get that extra shoutout.

Jen Fong is BBYQR's Communications and Special Projects Coordinator. She holds a BA in Visual Art and a Certificate in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Regina. She's a big believer in community-focussed business practices, supporting local, and throwing excellent parties.
