DARK MAGIC GRAB AND GO GARLANDS
"Grab-and-Go" is the new "Trick-or-Treat." Treat yourself to a gorgeous, festive, and oh-so-easy Halloween garland. Looks great above doorways, on window sills, or around cauldrons.
"BOO YOU WHORE" SIGNATURE BALLOONS
Sometimes we're creating gorgeous, colour-coordinated displays for huge events. Sometimes we're writing "Boo, You Whore" on a balloon. We take fun very seriously and you should too. Do yourself a favour and get a "Boo, You Whore" bouquet.
BBYQR's End-Of-Year To Do List
(AKA all the things we've put off throughout the year, listed here to hold ourselves accountable.) With a few months left of 2024, here's our business bucket list. Organized businesses make lists, right?
- Hire super cool new staff (we can't wait for you to meet them!!)
- Figure out replacement colours for Qualatex (our discontinued supplier that has left some balloon-shaped holes in our hearts)
- Recover from said balloon color heartbreak
- Clear the helium balloons that went rogue (AKA that were let go of and now populate our rafters... balloon heaven.)
- Take home Tanna's camping gear from the shop. Why is it there? Your guess is as good as ours.
- Put winter tires on Evangeline (our company van) BEFORE it snows. Winter tires for winter? Groundbreaking.
September Highlights
Eras of Inspiration - A Fantasy Food Experience

Where: Saskatchewan Science Centre
The Saskatchewan Science Centre celebrated a whooping 35 years, and we were THRILLED to bring the Eras themed party to this awesome milestone. Who says science and art don't mix? Taking colour palette inspiration from Taylor Swift's albums through the years, this custom trademark garland installation was one of our biggest and most elaborate to date. Colour blocked with starburst accents, this install created the perfect entrance into the Science Centre's unique fundraiser consisting of tastings from local food and beverage partners.
This colour palette matched the event's (gorgeous) poster. We love visual cohesion throughout an event! Some might say we're in our colour coordinated "Era" ... (lame joke #1 as promised).
80th Birthday Bash
When: September 2024
Where: Private Event
80 years young! We believe there's always a reason to celebrate, but an 80th birthday party calls for extra celebration! So, we broke out confetti table toppers , foil-topped tassel columns , and a hoop garland , transforming this gorgeous space into party central!
Parties are better with friends and a good photo spot. That's just a fact.
Pictured here is our Single Hoop Bar, one of the very few structures we offer.

Babies, Balloons, Besties

BBYQR's very own corporate consultant is celebrating big this month! We were stoked to decorate for her baby shower. Buuuut not as stoked as we are to meet the newest, tiniest member of the Balloon Bar family. Some might say Hannah was ready to "pop" for her shower! (yes, that's lame joke #2).
Life Hack: Check out The Station for all of your event needs. Stunning space, exceptional humans, and THOSE WINDOWS!! Need we say more?

Creative Options Regina and Gentle Teaching Canada are joining forces to hold their 23rd annual Gentle Teaching International Conference . This incredible event brings together people from around the world to discuss "positive and proactive support in health, mental health, disability, and educational sectors." With an incredible line of speakers, sessions, engagement activities, and stellar balloon decor (of course), this event is not to be missed!

Bump, Babe, Beyond Expo

Where: Conexus Arts Centre
One of our favourite trade shows is back and bigger than ever, and we can't wait to be a part of it! Bump, Babe, Beyond connects families with young children to services and businesses in Regina who are all about kids! Dedicated specifically to children under 5, this expo is fun for the whole family! We'll be there (but we'll leave the "Boo, You Whore" balloons behind).

Do elections induce a sense of overwhelm/ overstimulation/ dread? We get it. Our best advice? Take it in a little bit at a time. Read an article every week or so for the next few weeks. Don't get sucked into scrolling Facebook comments for hours (we're guilty as charged). Read, think on it, then put it away. Sticks and Doodles is home to some of our favourite local artisans (and the birthplace of some of our most prized possessions.) Featuring handcrafted, personalized artwork and gifts, this local gem is our go-to spot for getting our loved ones (and ourselves godamnit) something special! Even better? They're community minded go getters who live their values in business and in life!
We love installing with Sticks and Doodles (artists sure know how to plan for an install!). Our latest set-up featured an organic arch , custom columns, and balloon bouquets in their signature colour palette.
